Alright. I'll admit it. I'm a partaker in the highest crime of the Sailor Moon fan universe: I watch the DiC dub. Exclusively. (Actually, I haven't even watched that in quite awhile, but that's not what this rant is about.)
I'm a hideous outcast freak. No one will talk with me. No one will link to me without a "Warning - uses the DiC dub!" label. I'm not a full human being. I'm dirt. Lower than dirt, I'm some sort of pond scum floating about the Negaverse somewhere.
You're all better than me.
But you can all also BITE ME, because I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY THE SUBBED EPISODES.
I am but a poor high school student. I don't even have the money to go to dinner and a movie with my boyfriend more than once a month or so, let alone actually buy non-essential items for recreational purposes. In other words, I have no cash flow. I'd very much like to have the subbed episodes, but simply can't.
I live in a small, cutoff community. There isn't anywhere that rents them. Most of my friends are in similar financial situations and don't like anime anyway ­ there's no one I can borrow them from.
I've done my research. I've read about the seasons that I haven't seen. I have a (very) vague understanding of the Japanese version of Sailormoon. But you can't expect me to write a story based on it, ferGodssake! I have enough inconsistencies with the frikking DUB, and you people expect me to base my fanfic on the version I've never even seen?!
I reiterate, you can bite me. I am trying. The Islana Chronicles will be using Japanese names and maybe - MAYBE - Japanese attacks. I can't guarantee this, because I simply don't know the Japanese version.
Now stop hounding me, stop flaming me, and get over it - get over yourself. Honestly, there's very little I'm more sick of than the "holier-than-thou" attitude of the -ahem- Japanese elitists. Sailor Moon was dubbed into numerous languages specifically so that numerous cultures can enjoy it, and that's what I'm doing. Shouldn't that be enough?
